Paris, the capital of France, is one of the most important and influential cities in the world. Playing host to the Games of the XXXIII Olympiad, Paris previously hosted the Summer Games in 1900 and 1924 and it will become the second city to host the Summer Olympics three times after London. Additionally, this will mark the hundredth anniversary of the Paris Games of 1924 and the sixth Olympic games hosted by France (three in summer – 1900, 1924, 2024 and three in winter – 1924, 1968, 1992), and the first Olympic Games in France since the 1992 Winter Olympics in Albertville.
With respect to tourism, Paris is the second most visited city in Europe after London. The city is arguably designed specifically for the enjoyment of tourists and its visitors alike. By day its iconic streets, beautiful squares, Parisian style architecture, city gardens, and plentiful monuments, Paris beckons anyone who has visited to return. From the Eiffel Tower to the Arc de Triomphe, Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Louvre, there is no shortage of sites to see. During the evening, the city comes alive with legendary Moulin Rouge cabaret shows, bustling streets with bistros full of guests and picturesque neighborhoods like Montmartre ready to be explored.
